The Angels Booster Club, Inc. is a non-profit professional sports
organization dedicated to the support of baseball in general, both major
and minor, and the 2002 World Champion Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim in particular.
The Angels Booster Club has been a viable support entity in existence since 1964 and consistently
averages 400+ members who love the sport of
baseball
and enjoy various activities with others who share the same interests. As
volunteers, Angels Booster Club members assist the Anaheim Angels in pre and post game promotional giveaways.
Members may also
participate in baseball clinics hosted by the Angels, work charity
events, and set-up and staffing of the Angels Booster Club Booth at locations
like: Silverado Days and the Orange County
Fair.
Monthly general meetings are generally held on the first Monday
of
each month, depending on the Angels Home game schedule. Meetings are open
to all and are both business and recreational in nature. At these
monthly meetings, members sign-up to work promotional events, sign-up
for trips to spring training or to other cities where the great game
of baseball is played, and to cities that identify with the sport.
At these monthly General Meetings, when available, guest speakers
will
enlighten and entertain members with their exploits whether on a
Minor or Major League Baseball level. Following the guest speaker's
question and answer period, a short business meeting is held, at which
time committee chairpersons will report on upcoming events, the treasurer
report is given, and an opportunity drawing is held.
The proceeds from opportunity drawings, and the sale of other baseball memorabilia,
which may also be offered, are directly applied to meet the Club
Operating Costs and to purchase our Clubs season tickets. Tickets are used in our opportunity
drawings, along with the Booster Clubs Annual Picnic, Annual Blood Drive and Angels
Players Wives Luncheon.
We also plan our Celebrity Luncheons at quality local restaurants, where members
are given the
opportunity to meet with players from the Anaheim Angels.
The Angels Booster Club also assists the Angels minor league team affiliate
players by providing players with personal hygiene and toiletry items, drinks and snacks,
donated by the members. As a direct result, players have shown their
appreciation by making themselves available to participate in Booster Club
events that benefit the community and the membership, such as our Celebrity Luncheons and the Booster Club Annual Toy Drive.
The Booster Club's year culminates annually in November, at which time an
annual Business/Dinner meeting is held, and qualified
members are elected to serve on your Angels Booster Club Board of Directors.
Provisions that govern State of California NON-PROFIT Corporations
direct the clubs Board of Directors.
It is the specific goal of the Angels Booster Club to be an asset to the
Angels Baseball organization and to assist them in any, and every, way possible. We
want to
enhance the image of our Team, our Booster Club and Baseball in general and wish
to
be considered colleagues with regard to public relations.
